Now is our time to dismantle racism in Minnesota.

SURJ MN is the Minnesota chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ)
— a national network of groups and individuals organizing White people for racial justice.

Through community organizing, mobilizing, and education, SURJ moves White people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice with passion and accountability. SURJ provides a space to build relationships, skills and political analysis to act for change.

    Our Work

SURJ MN is an organization made up of a core team and various working groups. Our working groups take on projects that support our campaigns and advance our mission, vision, and values.

We are a leaderful organization—which means everyone involved with SURJ MN can take on leadership in some way. We are committed to leadership development and shared decision-making throughout the organization.

Here's a list of our current projects — and here's how you sign up to get updates on particular projects!

    Participating in Multiracial Movements

In this workshop we will be examining patterns of behavior that white people often exhibit in multi-racial groups that center white experiences. Through this workshop, we will learn how to recognize those patterns in ourselves and build skills to shift our behavior to center people of color.

This workshop is one of four SURJ MN will be offering regularly through 2017 and 2018. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for descriptions and dates.

All workshops are free; however, a suggested donation of $5-15 is encouraged.
